I feel like I ought to post a little bit about all of Penny's progress. Penny wasn't even saying two word sentences or responses at the beginning of this summer, and now she's initiating conversation and saying multiple word phrases at a time. Her speech is still delayed - mostly her K and G sounds - but she sees her speech therapist once a week and she has intense focus on those two sounds in particular. Penny also wasn't even close to recognizing letters just a few weeks ago. But with Miss Jo's class starting, and her and I beginning a little learning regimen every morning, she has started to recognize the letters P and S, and we're working on A. In this picture she's very excited about finding a letter S as we're parked in a parking lot. Penny loves to find matches, especially cars that are the same as ours (she says, "Same Volvo!" - guess she misses the Volvo). She also knows pink and purple very readily, and many of the shapes, and gets the other colors right about 50% of the time (although this morning she noted that her pee pee was "lello"). She's also working on potty training. This little girl has a lot on her plate, and she is just such a happy, animated little camper to be learning and progressing in all these ways. I am happy that she's my tiny sidekick as we go about our daily adventures. #adventuresofpennyandmom #developmentaldelay
