Penelope had a well check at the doctor today. At our last visit, Dr. Rafferty said that if she wasn't walking by now that we'd need to work with an early intervention counselor. She isn't walking. And in fact, she isn't talking. She makes lots of noises, and last week she said "bye bye," but that's pretty much it. It amazes me that she has these delays because of how quick she is with social cues and perception. But, there is a definite delay. I'm going to do a little research and find out what an early intervention counselor does, and then we'll decide if there are exercises that she and I can do on our own or if we really do need outside help. In other news, she is 20 pounds and 29 inches -- about the 10th percentile -- she is growing well on her own curve, but is certainly very small for her age. She got 3 shots and a lollipop, which she stuck to her sweater as she fell asleep almost immediately after getting buckled in the car. Love my tiny, delayed, funny girl.
