Driving home a little while ago, the car started stinking to high heaven. I knew Penelope had pooped, but gosh, had no clue how gross my life was about to get. When I got her out of the car I quickly realized she had pooped up her back and down the sides of her diaper through her leggings. I put her straight into the tub so as to contain her until I could formulate a plan. What ensued was a 3-phase cleanup. Phase 1 was peeling poo clothes and diaper off her, and getting her wiped down enough to bathe her. I got her situated (while George was in the other room screaming at Olive and then biting her, I might add), and then began Phase 2. I scrubbed her clothes - I'm usually not a proponent of keeping poop clothes, but we're talking hers and Lucy's winter coats (don't ask me how it got on Lucy's). Once that was taken care of, then Phase 3 was deconstructing her car seat, putting the fabric parts through the wash and Clorox wiping all the plastic parts, and then reconstructing it again (which I like, HATE doing). Now she's sleeping happily, and I'm washing my hands a thousand times over. One of those days!
